Matuidi announces his retirement from football

Frenchman Blas Matuidi has announced his retirement from football.

The French footballer hung up his boots at the age of 35, after a career in the world of witchcraft. And the Frenchman wrote on his Twitter account: "Football, I love you so much, football has done a lot, but it's time to stop. I realized my dream as a child, my dream as a man. It is with great pain but with pride that I turn this page today. Thank you".

Matuidi began his career at French club Troyes between 2004 and 2007, and spent 4 years at French club Saint-Etienne. He joined the Paris Saint-Germain team in 2011, when the Qatari club was taken over, contributing to many titles over 6 seasons.

He won 16 national titles in France in the shirt of the Paris Giants, and was in full formation for the French League for two seasons, and won the French player of the year award in 2015. Then he moved to Juventus for 20 million euros in the summer of 2017 and spent 3 seasons, during which he won 5 titles.

From him, he joined the ranks of the American Inter Miami, owned by Englishman David Beckham. Matuidi has not played a game since he ended his commitment to Miami in 2021, and as a result of his transfer, the club was fined two million dollars for violating the player registration rules in the American League.

And in the jersey of the French team, he played 84 games, in which he scored 9 goals, and was one of the main factors for the Roosters to win the 2018 World Cup. In total, the French soldier played in his professional career in 699 clubs, during which he scored 50 goals and 44 assists.
