An Arab confrontation in the Club World Cup

 

Al-Ahly Club, the vice-champions of Africa, will open the World Cup by meeting the New Zealanders coming from Auckland City on February 1 in Morocco.


And in the event that Al-Ahly club beats its New Zealand counterpart, Auckland City, it will meet its American counterpart, Sounders from Seattle, in the World Cup quarter-finals on February 4. The Saudi club Al-Hilal, which won the AFC Champions League title in the previous edition, will meet its Moroccan counterpart, Wydad, in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on February 4th.


Al-Hilal Saudi Club will meet Brazilian Flamengo, winner of the “Copa Libertadores” title, in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup on February 7, in the event that it overcomes the obstacles of Moroccan Wydad. And in the event that Al-Ahly club wins over American Seattle, Real Madrid, the European Champions League champion, will meet in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup on February 8.


The final round of the World Cup will be held in Morocco, and the third place will be determined on the same day, February 11th. Al-Ahly Club achieved the bronze medal for the second time in a row in the last edition, after its victory over Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia 4-0 in the third-place match.
